Howdy, iam Elisa Zapata, Peace out!

Well, ain’t that a kick in the pants! My fridge just went cold on me. I guess it’s time to call the repairman. Talk about a bummer - I was really looking forward to having some cold drinks this weekend. Oh well, nothing for it but to get it fixed up and running again. Here’s hoping it won’t take too long!

Is 5 Too Cold For Fridge? [Solved]

So, what’s the right temp for your fridge? The Food Standards Agency recommends keeping it at 5 degrees Celsius or lower. That’s because bacteria can thrive in the ‘danger zone’ between 8 and 63 degrees. Got it?

  1. Temperature: The temperature of a cold fridge should be set between 0-4°C (32-39°F). This is the optimal temperature range for storing food safely and preventing spoilage.

  2. Storage: Foods should be stored in airtight containers or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap to prevent moisture from entering the fridge and spoiling food.

  3. Organization: It is important to organize your fridge so that you can easily find what you need when you need it, as well as keep track of expiration dates on items that may spoil quickly.

  4. Cleanliness: Regularly cleaning your fridge will help reduce the risk of bacteria growth and contamination, which can lead to foodborne illnesses if not addressed properly.

  5. Maintenance: Check your refrigerator regularly for any signs of wear or damage, such as leaking seals or broken shelves, and have them repaired immediately if necessary to ensure proper functioning of the appliance and safety of stored foods.

My fridge is so cold it’s like a tundra in there! I can’t believe how chilly it is - I’m shivering just thinking about it. It’s definitely not normal; I’d better get a technician to take a look. In the meantime, I’ll have to keep my food in coolers and hope for the best.
